SALE UPDATE

Following on from my foreword in the catalogue I thought that I would do an update on the progress of the sale. We are now clipping all the cattle and as they lose their winter coats they are looking pretty exciting.
We have billed the sale 'Something for Everyone' so just a word to any customers who think prices will be to high for them. We are hoping for some high prices but there will also be many cattle in the sale from top class families, looking good, for very sensible money. Nobody will regret buying any of them.
I am getting phone calls asking what is looking good;
Mrs Melody - is very fresh but coming everyday. Her mother won the Royal 3rd calf. She will be hard to beat once she has settled and is already giving 50kg
Duplex Kitty - Really in great form, big, powerful a with great udder and hard top.Giving 66kg
Double Kitty - another show cow from Kitty's. Fresh with her 2nd with a stunning udder.
Melody Highlight - PD back in calf, her best show days are yet to come.
Carismatic Kitty, Dame Medora - two great heifers that would get in any show team
Exciting Youngstock

HUDDLESFORD HOLSTEINS - DISPERSAL SALE ANNOUNCEMENT
One of the UK’s leading Holstein herds  will come under the hammer on Tuesday 1st February as Tom and Andy Cope  conduct their first sale to disperse their world renowned Huddlesford Herd.

It promises to be an exceptional sale catalogue and one of the most appealing dispersal sales to take place in many years. Featuring 300 head and bursting with top pedigrees, show type, and wonderful sound milkers , all the milking cattle will sell except some older individuals. This first sale will also comprise 100 of the very best bred heifers and young calves.

Established in 1936 by Tom’s father, the Huddlesford prefix has built up a solid reputation within the Holstein industry, and is now recognised as being one of the UK’s best Holstein herds. Whilst dispersing the herd was not an easy decision to come to, it is in incredible shape, with the herd today, currently consisting of no fewer than 69 EXCELLENT and 122 VG’s including 25 VG 2 year olds.  Huddlesford are also the reigning premier Breeder and Exhibitor of the National Holstein Show- all the show team will sell, many in prime form for the 2011 Show season.
Over the years Huddlesford have enjoyed incredible success in the show ring, with cows like CRF Vic Birch Kitty EX-95, and Impala TTR Sonya EX-92 enjoying success in the 80’s, Cardsland Eclipse Flo EX-96 dominating the show ring in the 90’s and in recent years Tomalynn Leduc Della EX-95 and Shanael Gelpro Melody EX-95 have continued the winning way on both sides of the Atlantic.  All of these great families plus many more will be represented in the sale.

The Huddlesford sale at Beeston Cattle Market represents a magnificent opportunity to invest in some truly great cattle, and a lifetime of breeding. For any discerning milk producer or Holstein connoisseur, mark Tuesday 1st February 2011 down in your diary, as an opportunity not to be missed.

We are proud at Huddlesford to have featured recently in two Canadian publications, where you can read more about our farm, herd and history.

The Fall Edition of Cowsmoplitan features the herd on page 110, in an article written by Julie Dunlop, called 'Familiar Faces bridging the Atlantic'. While Bonnie Cooper of the Canadian Holstein Journal wrote ' Huddlesford Holsteins- Transformed by Canadian Genetics' in the November '08 issue.
